Nitro Up North Returns to the Top End as a Standalone Event in 2025

OUTLAW NITRO FUNNY CAR

Darwin is set for a massive weekend of high-octane drag racing when Nitro Up North returns to the Hidden Valley Dragway from Friday, 29 to Saturday, 30 August.

Presented by LMCT+ and proudly supported by our Event Funding Program, the event will deliver two thrilling nights of heart-pounding action and family fun.

The action-packed program will see the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars unleashing their flame-throwing, nitro-fuelled power in side-by-side races guaranteed to shake the ground.

The ever-popular Top Doorslammers, will also hit the strip in the NDRC Season 2 Grand Final, where Australia’s quickest full-bodied, V8-powered machines will unleash more than 3,000 horsepower in a race for championship glory.

The Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) Regional Sportsman Series will see local and regional racers, from street-style machines to drag bikes, battle it out for crucial championship points in one of the most anticipated rounds of the season.

Beyond the racing, the High Air FMX team will showcase a jaw-dropping line-up of gravity-defying motocross stunts, featuring X-Games Quarter Pipe gold medallist Corey Creed.

Spectators can also enjoy interactive fan experiences, pit access to get up close with the cars and drivers, and a festival-like atmosphere with food vendors, merchandise stalls, family-friendly entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday night.

"It’s a massive celebration of drag racing and Territory spirit, and we’re proud to work with the NT Government, the team from Hidden Valley Drag Racing Association and LMCT+ to make it all happen,” said Out There Group Managing Director, Andy Lopez.

The event runs from 29–30 August at Hidden Valley Dragway, with gates open from 3pm. Tickets are $51 for adults, $28.60 for youth, and free entry for children under 13. For tickets and program information visit nationaldragracing.com.au/event/nitro-up-north/.
